Individual Therapy
From the first session, we’ll work with you to understand which therapy approaches may work best for you. We aim to quickly identify your needs and preferences.
We generally use two evidence-based approaches to therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). They are both effective, evidence-based treatments to treat a variety of common mental health and emotional concerns. While we use these two approaches most often, we’re open to other ways of working with you.
We can provide accountability and support for you to reach your personal and professional goals. This direct approach will help you get results. Instead of just talking about your situation, our sessions can be a time to take action.
Your Wellbeing Matters
Before starting individual therapy, we assess your overall wellbeing and stress. Above all, we consider and support your happiness and health. We help people cope with concerns like anxiety and depression, managing stress, or big life transitions.
Even if you are just feeling overwhelmed in your personal or professional life, therapy can help. We will collaborate in therapy to improve your self-esteem and self- acceptance. No matter what you’re dealing with, you will gain clarity and hope once we address your issues together.
Special Areas of Focus
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT is an evidence-based therapy that focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We’ll help you identify and change thoughts and beliefs that don’t serve you. With a different perspective on your situation, you will see the power you have to improve your quality of life.
Chronic and Pelvic Pain
Chronic pain can make it tough to enjoy many things in life. When ongoing discomfort gets your attention, activities you used to enjoy, movement, and exercise can take a backseat. Pelvic pain can be especially challenging to live with. It can interfere with your ability to do everyday activities and make sex uncomfortable. I can help you cope with chronic or pelvic pain and their effect on your relationships. I’m happy to consult with or refer to physicians and physical therapists for a holistic treatment plan.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Emotional pain is a part of being human, and we all experience it at times. In therapy, we’ll help you relate to this pain as something you can live with rather than something to eliminate or avoid. This more flexible viewpoint will make it easier for you to cope with life’s more difficult moments. Things hurt because you care about them! Instead of trying to care less or change your feelings, ACT can help you redirect your energy and action into what matters to you most.
