Individual Therapy
From the first session, I’ll work with you to understand what therapy approach may work best for you. I will aim to quickly to identify what you may need and prefer.
I generally use two evidence-based approaches to therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). They are both effective, evidence-based treatments to treat a variety of common mental health and emotional concerns. While I use these two approaches most often, I’m open to other ways of working with you.
I also have experience providing accountability for clients for their health, personal, and professional goals. This direct approach can help you get results. Instead of just talking about your situation, our sessions can be a time to take action.
Your Wellbeing Matters
Before starting individual therapy, I assess your overall wellbeing and stress. Above all, I consider and support your overall happiness and health. I help people cope with concerns like anxiety and depression, managing stress, or big life transitions.
Even if you are just feeling overwhelmed in your personal or professional life, therapy can help. We will work together to improve your self-esteem and self- acceptance. No matter what you’re dealing with, you will feel more like yourself again once these issues begin to be addressed.
Special Areas of Focus
Trauma therapy
I am a trained trauma therapist and can work with you to address your emotional pain. Any type of trauma can affect your confidence, relationships, and overall quality of life. Living through trauma can be overwhelming and strain your coping skills.
What you experienced does not define you. Trauma therapy will empower you to live with the peace and assurance you deserve.
Chronic and Pelvic Pain
Chronic pain can make it tough to enjoy many things in life. When ongoing discomfort gets your attention, activities you used to enjoy, movement, and exercise can take a backseat. Pelvic pain can be especially challenging to live with. It can interfere with your ability to do everyday activities and make sex uncomfortable. I can help you cope with chronic or pelvic pain and their effect on your relationships. I’m happy to consult with or refer to physicians and physical therapists for a holistic treatment plan.
Individual Therapy Services:
Adult ADHD Treatment
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder effects your life in many ways, and if left untreated, can lead to feelings of low self-esteem, restlessness, dissatisfaction, or anxiety and depression. Treatment for adult ADHD can provide you with valuable insight and skills to help you focus more, improve memory, and restore balance to your life.
Insomnia Treatment & CBT-i
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia is a quick and effective treatment solution for improving sleep quality and reducing restlessness at night in as little as two sessions. CBT-i explores the way your thoughts and feelings, alongside outside life factors, may be impacting your sleep to create an individualized plan to reduce insomnia symptoms.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
This is an evidence-based therapy that focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I’ll help you identify and change destructive thoughts and beliefs. With a different perspective on your situation, you see the power you have to improve your quality of life.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Emotional pain is a part of life and we all experience it at times. In therapy, I’ll help you embrace this pain as something you can live with rather than something to eliminate or avoid. This more flexible viewpoint will make it easier for you to cope with life’s more difficult moments.
Trauma-focused Treatments
I use both prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy to help you heal from trauma. These evidence-based treatments work by helping you face your emotions and redefine how they affect you each day. You’ll learn how to live with your trauma experiences and cope with your feelings.
Complicated Grief Treatment
If you struggle with long-term or complicated grief, therapy can help you move forward. I’ll guide you through your grief process and help you feel less overwhelmed by your emotions. With my support, you’ll learn to live with your grief more easily.
