Mina Ratkalkar, Ph.D, LCSW

I’m Mina Ratkalkar, Ph.D., LCSW, and certified sex therapist (CST). I have 13 years of experience in helping individuals overcome negative past experiences, mental health concerns, and stressful situations. I use a collaborative, individualized, and goal-oriented approach to help others enact lasting positive change in their lives.

As a sex and relationship therapist, I help couples improve their communication and openness without changing who they are. I believe that humor is an essential part of healthy sexuality. We may talk about some deep or sensitive topics, but being comfortable and open is the key to better communication. Many people are looking for playfulness and fun in their sexuality. Honesty and acceptance pave the way for better intimacy.

I want to help you get to the heart of your concerns so you can see positive change. In our initial evaluation, I’ll work with you to identify you needs and find the approaches that may work the best for you. In our sessions, I create an environment of safety, acceptance, and respect. No shame, no judgment. Only honesty.

Who I work with

I appreciate and welcome diversity of all kinds, including clients of a wide range race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual values, and sexual interests. I work with individuals and couples, including those in non-monogamous relationships.

My perspective as a woman of color helps me understand the work involved in explaining or defending who you are. I can help guide interracial couples through intimacy issues. I’m also kink-aware and LGBTQIA+ allied. Acceptance is at the core of my practice. Our therapeutic relationship is built on trust and openness as we work toward your goals.
